Assembler II -Solder

Job Summary:

Responsible for prepping, loading, inspecting and soldering components to IPC-A-610 or customer specified requirements.  


Responsibilities:

  • Read the bill of materials, Assembly Instruction, or any other related documentation necessary before starting the task of prepping, loading and/or soldering.
  • Audit material received to ensure all material has been received.
  • Prep and load components as shown in the assembly instruction and drawing. 
  • Notify your Team Leader, Supervisor, Manager or Engineering when the equipment is failing or not working properly.
  • Transport racks of circuit boards and/or materials kits to or from the department to ensure an efficient production process.
  • Regular attendance by the employee is required to meet production goals and customer commitment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to always provide a safe working environment.
  • Complete physical inventories (board and component counts) to ensure movement accuracy.



Solder Duties

  • Inspect solder joints and components to IPC-A-610 and/or customer specifications for uniformity and durability.
  • Correct joints below quality standard using various soldering equipment.
  • Solder additional components to boards to ensure the function and quality of the board. 
  • Read and/or compare job files, bills of materials Assembly Instructions or other necessary documentation to board assemblies.
  • Regular attendance by the employee is required to meet production goals and customer commitment.
  • Transport trays/racks of circuit boards to or from the department to ensure an efficient production process.
  • Complete physical inventories (board counts) to ensure movement accuracy.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to always provide a safe working environment.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by the supervisor to accommodate varying production requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):


Experience


Must have 2 or more years soldering through hole and surface mount components.


Education


A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.  Additionally, the employee must successfully complete all the internal courses offered by the company necessary to do the job.

                                

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Must have excellent vision including the ability to distinguish between colors and varying shades of color, and the ability to read screen-printing symbols and component values.  Must be able to sit and perform stationary work for the majority of the shift. May be required to lift 40lbs periodically. Must be able to always work independently and safely.  Must maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information. 



PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities perception and ability to adjust focus. 


This position operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, etc.
