Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented SCC Soft Analyst to support and maintain the SCC SoftLab clinical laboratory information system (LIS). This role will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, managing testing efforts, and providing end-user support. The SCC Soft Analyst will work closely with IT, clinical laboratory staff, and vendor teams to ensure optimal performance of the LIS and alignment with clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Support & Maintenance:
  • Provide daily support for the SCC SoftLab LIS, ensuring system uptime, performance, and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, escalating to SCC support or internal teams as needed.
  • Monitor system interfaces and ensure proper communication with ancillary systems (e.g., EMR, middleware, instrumentation).

• Data Management:
  • Execute data migration and conversion tasks during system upgrades, integrations, or organizational changes.
  • Validate and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.

• Testing & Implementation:
  • Coordinate and perform application testing for software upgrades, patches, and new features.
  • Create and maintain test scripts and documentation for quality assurance.
  • Assist in the configuration and implementation of new laboratory workflows and modules within SCC SoftLab.

• End-User Support & Training:
  • Provide tier 2/3 support to laboratory staff and clinicians using the LIS.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and documentation to support users in navigating system features.
  • Gather feedback from end-users to guide system enhancements and optimization efforts.

• Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, laboratory operations, compliance, and vendors to resolve issues and deploy improvements.
  • Participate in project planning, status meetings, and change management activities.

• Compliance & Documentation:
  • Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, change requests, incident reports, and validation protocols.
  • Ensure the LIS meets regulatory standards (e.g., CAP, CLIA, HIPAA) through appropriate configuration and documentation practices.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting SCC SoftLab or similar LIS applications.
• Solid understanding of clinical laboratory workflows and terminology.
• Experience in software testing, issue tracking, and documentation.
• Proficient with data analysis and SQL for querying LIS databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

• Certification or training in SCC SoftLab or related SCC modules (e.g., SoftMic, SoftBank, SoftPath).
• Experience with HL7 messaging and LIS-EMR interfaces.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, CAP, CLIA).
• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical lab IT environment.
