We are currently staffing for a Nursery Assistant to play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of a busy, local plant nursery. This position requires physical strength and stamina as you will be involved in lifting, moving, and caring for various plants and trees. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers, watering plants, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the nursery.
Lifting and Moving Plants:
- Lift and carry potted plants, trees, and other nursery items safely and efficiently.
- Arrange and organize plants within the nursery to optimize space and accessibility.
Maintenance and Cleaning:
- Keep the nursery area clean, organized, and free from debris.
- Sweep walkways, tidy shelves, and maintain a visually appealing environment for customers.
Customer Assistance:
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in selecting plants and products.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding plant care, suitability, and landscaping advice.
- Assist customers in loading purchases into their vehicles and provide exceptional service at all times.
Watering and Plant Care:
- Water plants according to their specific requirements, ensuring they remain healthy and vibrant.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
