We are seeking an experienced Sandblasting Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in sandblasting techniques, with a focus on handling large-scale projects efficiently and effectively. The role requires precision, attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating sandblasting equipment and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, operating sandblasting equipment, and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the blasting process.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for sandblasting by cleaning, masking, and repairing as necessary.
  • Operate sandblasting equipment effectively and safely to remove rust, paint, and other coatings from surfaces.
  • Monitor blasting equipment and adjust settings to achieve desired results while minimizing waste and environmental impact.
  • Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and project managers to coordinate blasting activities and meet project deadlines.
  • Keep accurate records of blasting activities, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, coating, or restoration by removing rust, paint, and other contaminants.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Sandblaster including large scale sandblasting, preferably in an industrial or construction setting.
  • Proficiency in operating sandblasting equipment such as blast pots, hoses, nozzles, and compressors.
  • Strong understanding of abrasive materials, grit sizes, and pressure settings for different surface types.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to sandblasting operations.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to maneuver equipment and achieve precise results.
  • Physical stamina and strength to withstand long hours of standing, lifting, and operating heavy machinery.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude towards teamwork.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments and adapt to changing project demands.

Compensation:

$23.00-25.00 DOE

Depending on performance, will be eligible for a $2.00 wage increase within the 1st 60 days of assignment!
