Job Title: CBW Operator

Job Description:

As an Operator, you are responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of soiled linen and organizing wash loads to maximize productivity. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Job Accountabilities:

  1. Adapt to Changing Priorities: Maintain awareness of changing priorities throughout the workday and adjust your tasks accordingly to ensure a smooth workflow.
  2. Linen Management: Keep soiled linen off the floor and properly stored in designated carts, preventing contamination and ensuring cleanliness.
  3. Organized Work Environment: Maintain an orderly work environment by aligning carts and containers in an organized manner, promoting efficient use of space.
  4. Cleanliness: Ensure the soiled linen area is free of debris and loose linen, contributing to a safe and hygienic workspace.
  5. Cleanup Assistance: Assist with end-of-shift clean-up activities and ongoing cleanliness tasks as needed throughout the day.
  6. Load CBW: Load the CBW with linen within designated weight limits, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively.
  7. Linen Separation: Properly separate different types of linen to prevent mixing and ensure appropriate washing procedures.
  8. Equipment Monitoring: Regularly inspect the equipment for maintenance problems, and promptly report any issues to the Engineer for maintenance and repairs.
  9. Safety Compliance: Review material safety data sheets (MSDS) as requested to identify potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and follow safety protocols.
  10. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to your tasks, such as linen loads, maintenance issues, and safety inspections.
  11. Other Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the facility.

Essential Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: High school graduate or GED is desirable but not mandatory. Previous production experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic reading skills, good eye-hand coordination, and strong attention to detail are essential for this role. You should be able to work effectively with others and possess good communication skills to ensure smooth collaboration with team members.

In this role, your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment are critical. You will be contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the linen processing operations.

Working Condition Requirements: Must be able to bend at the waist and perform repetitive lifting, reaching, gripping, grasping tasks while continuously standing.  Must be able to lift or push 30 to 40 pounds.
