A non-profit organization in Sacramento is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant. The Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant is responsible for recording all transactions, reconciling, maintaining general ledger, and reporting. They will also provide administrative support to the team. Candidates ideally will have prior basic bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks, and must also be comfortable with assisting with administrative responsibilities. This is a direct-hire opportunity, however due to the part-time nature of the position, benefits are not offered. Part Time schedule: 10am - 2pm, M-F (some evenings/weekends). Pay: $20/hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains system to account for financial transactions by existing chart of accounts and current bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2 years' recent experience in Administrative and Bookkeeping.
- 1 years’ experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field a plus.
- Experience with laws and regulations pertaining to non-profit organizations a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- High attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently.
