Our client, a distinguished financial institution, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive BSA Compliance Officer to lead internal audit and regulatory compliance initiatives. This pivotal role ensures the accuracy of account records, strengthens internal controls, and promotes consistent adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations, as well as organizational policies and bylaws.

The ideal candidate will have extensive banking or credit union BSA compliance, AML, CIP and OFAC experience, with proficiency in Verafin system.


Salary: $70,000-$90,000 DOE.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures adherence to BSA, OFAC, AML, and CIP policies while reviewing materials for regulatory compliance across federal, state, and insurance domains.
  • Conducts annual compliance training and evaluates departmental alignment with board policies and management plans.
  • Executes audits by reviewing reports, conducting staff interviews, and performing cash inventories to detect procedural lapses or fraud.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual compliance reports with findings and actionable recommendations for leadership and oversight committees.
  • Coordinates subpoena responses, special compliance studies, and supports CPA firms, regulators, and insurers during audits and member verification efforts


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a BSA Compliance Specialist or Officer role.
  • Banking or Credit Union industry experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and online research tools to support core operational responsibilities.
  • Verafin system experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates a consistently cooperative and positive attitude toward members and colleagues across the entire organization. .
  • Meets essential job duties through proven experience or education, including an associate’s degree in accounting, English, or related field.
  • Possesses strong language skills for analyzing technical/regulatory content, producing professional documentation, and communicating effectively.
  • Applies sound reasoning to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interprets various forms of instructions.
