Our client, a well-regarded financial institution, is seeking a Loan Servicing Specialist. This position will report to the Loan Servicing Manager while working closely with team members to provide top level customer service to borrowers, loan officers and investors.
Pay: $24–$29/hr. DOE. Direct hire. Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 remote.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Support & Issue Resolution: Deliver high-quality service to borrowers, loan officers, and branch managers; handle escalated inquiries and collaborate with investors to resolve borrower issues and consumer complaints.
- Escrow & Payoff Administration: Generate escrow reports, process payments per investor requirements, request refunds, notify MI companies of loan sales, and manage payoff demands through lien release.
- Loan Servicing & Sub-Servicer Oversight: Support the servicing lifecycle, including loans paid in full and monthly audits of sub-servicers to ensure compliance and performance.
- Collections & Payment Plans: Proactively contact borrowers regarding missed first payments, establish payment plans, and ensure respectful and effective debt resolution.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create complex, data-driven spreadsheets for management reporting; familiar with loan servicing systems, investor guidelines, and CFPB compliance.
- Mortgage Industry Experience: Over two years of hands-on mortgage loan servicing experience, with a strong grasp of regulatory standards and servicing practices.
- Customer Service & Organization: Demonstrated excellence in customer service and organizational abilities; comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Team Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication; able to convey complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively in team-oriented settings.
- Core Competencies: Highly analytical, detail-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated with proven initiative, creativity, and leadership capabilities.
