We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Compliance Officer to lead the Compliance and Risk Management functions for a healthcare organization in Sacramento. This executive-level role ensures our organization operates within legal and regulatory frameworks and fosters a culture of ethical excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strategic FQHC compliance, risk and incident management insight, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of FTCA compliance. Our client offers a generous benefits package, with healthcare coverage for the employee, 401k plus employer match, and other exciting perks!  Salary : $135,000-$185,000 per year



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compliance & Risk Program Leadership: Designs, implements, and monitors the annual compliance plan, supporting ethical operations and legal adherence; manages internal and external audits and training in coordination with leadership and HR.
  • Privacy Oversight: Ensures privacy policies, consent forms, and informational materials meet legal and organizational standards in collaboration with legal counsel and leadership.
  • Policy & Procedure Governance: Maintains and updates policies—including Code of Conduct—and oversees the online policy library to prevent organizational misconduct.
  • Contract & Insurance Management: Oversees the lifecycle of contracts, agreements, and insurance documents to ensure ongoing compliance and proper execution.
  • Incident & Risk Assessment: Leads incident evaluations, reporting, and investigations; implements loss control strategies and partners with legal counsel to address risks and litigation.
  • Supervision & Support Functions: Manages Compliance and HIM team members, supports HRSA compliance efforts, and fulfills additional duties aligned with organizational goals.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 5+ years in an FQHC compliance role; equivalent healthcare experience may substitute for education.
  • Supervisory Expertise: Proven success in developing departmental goals, managing workloads, and leading staff development—all gained through 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Communication Proficiency: Skilled in business writing, professional correspondence, verbal communication with patients and staff, and handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Adaptability & Composure: Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, interdisciplinary environments with professionalism and resilience.
  • Certifications & Technical Skills: Eligibility for CHC and CHPC certifications required; experience in data analysis tools and techniques is essential.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (MPH, MHA, or JD) and CHRC or auditing certifications preferred; commitment to diversity, equity, trauma-informed care, and person-centered practices is highly valued.
