We are seeking a detail-oriented Card Investigations Technician to support card services operations for a leading financial institution. This role is responsible for detecting, investigating, and resolving fraudulent activity across debit, credit, ATM, and online transactions. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Card Investigations Technician will ensure timely resolution of claims while maintaining a positive member experience.

  • Pay: $20/hour
  • 100% remote (must reside in CA)


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and monitor card fraud detection systems while ensuring accurate processes and reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve fraud and dispute claims, maintaining communication with members, merchants, processors, and law enforcement.
  • Provide timely support to branches and departments, addressing member issues and escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Gather, evaluate, and document evidence for investigations, preparing chargeback documentation in compliance with Visa requirements.
  • Share relevant fraud account information with internal teams and external authorities to support recovery and prevention efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance requirements, including state and federal regulations, audit standards, and Visa dispute resolution updates.
  • Process reimbursements, update claims systems, and perform additional administrative tasks to support daily operations.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in a financial institution or with credit/debit card operations.
  • Strong knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Visa regulations and applicable federal and state compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail in documentation and investigations.
  • Proficiency with basic office tools and systems, including Excel, PC applications, and standard office equipment; ability to work independently and as part of a team
