Are you a strategic and hands-on HR leader looking for an opportunity to make a real impact in an organization rooted in equity, collaboration, and service to the community? As the Director of Human Resources, you’ll partner closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives related to workforce planning, recruitment, professional development, performance management, and employee relations. You’ll also guide internal transformation in a period of organizational growth, championing a strong workplace culture and leading a small but growing HR team.


What You’ll be Doing…

·        Serve as a strategic HR partner to the Executive Director and leadership team, aligning people strategies with organizational goals.

·        Lead all core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance.

·        Build and manage HR policies, programs, and systems with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.

·        Supervise and develop an HR Generalist, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

·        Oversee performance management, staff training, and professional development initiatives.

·        Provide guidance on organizational design, change management, and workforce planning.

·        Ensure compliance with employment laws and support labor/management relations in a unionized environment.

·        Monitor HR metrics, manage the department budget, and implement scalable processes for future growth.


Here’s what your work history needs to show as evidence that you’re the right candidate…

  • 5+ years of senior HR leadership experience in a similarly complex or mission-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong background in recruiting, employee relations, training, compensation, and benefits
  • Experience working with diverse populations and supporting equity and inclusion
  • Proven ability to manage HR operations and lead through growth and change
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Ability to work both strategically and tactically across multiple HR functions


Here’s the important details:

·        Location: Renton, WA (100% onsite)

·        Salary: $97,000-$140,000 per year
