Our client, who is a global leader in the tech industry, has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant to help cover for a maternity leave. This position will be working remote with the occasional need to go into the office as needed.

SALARY: $25-$30 per hour
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

THE ROLE
Responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization’s financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Assists with the responsibilities of general accounting functions with an emphasis on expenses and related balance sheet accounts, ensuring the accuracy of the ledger accounts and financial statements and maintains appropriate internal controls. Also, responsible to administer approved accounting practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting close procedures:
Prepares monthly account reconciliations and journal entries.
Ensures that assigned financial statement line items are recognized in accordance with GAAP.
Responsible for preparing accounting estimates, including but not limited. expense accruals and inventory adjustments.
Resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Maintaining other general ledger accounts, including:
Responsible for reconciliation of payroll and related accrual accounts.
Employee expenses and related activity.
Responsible for the fixed asset subledger in both SAP and FAS.
Prepares financial reporting:
Assists in preparation of the monthly reporting package.
Assists with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and reporting on variances.
Assists with internal controls and the external audit:
Prepares required documents for the quarterly reviews, internal controls testing, and financial statement audit.
SKILLS AND MUST-HAVES
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting (or equivalent for non-U.S. applicants) required.
One to two years of experience with month-end financial close procedures desired.
One year of Big 4 auditing experience a plus.
Experience using a complex ERP system a plus, SAP preferred.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, accounting policies and procedures, techniques, and analytic capability.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) as well as other new technologies.
Must be a self-starter who is able to demonstrate initiative in planning, work ethic, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read and analyze financial reports and present information and respond to questions from internal/external customers.
Ability to engage in creative problem solving and effectively manages changes in processes and methodologies.
