LOCATION: Portland, OR
SALARY: $30–36/hr. DOE
SCHEDULE: Full-time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the employee relations function, addressing workplace issues, managing conflict resolution, and promoting respectful communication.
  • Conduct thorough, confidential workplace investigations in alignment with legal standards and organizational policies; prepare detailed documentation and recommendations.
  • Coach managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation to ensure consistency and legal compliance.
  • Support compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies through education, training, and process improvement.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training programs with a focus on setting clear expectations around workplace conduct and organizational values.
  • Collaborate on broader HR functions including recruitment, benefits, and performance management with an employee-centric lens.
  • Use HR metrics and data to proactively identify trends in employee relations and recommend strategies for improvement.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on employee relations, conflict resolution, and conducting workplace investigations.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and compliance practices (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, OFLA, PLO).
  • Excellent communication, mediation, and documentation skills; ability to remain neutral, empathetic, and solution-focused.
  • Proficient in HRIS platforms, benefits administration, and managing sensitive data with discretion.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position includes various physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, typing, and occasional lifting of 5–25 pounds.
