Mechanical Engineer Project Manager | Direct Hire

Nexeo HR is hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support client-facing engineering projects while managing internal teams and customer relationships. This role follows a 9/80 work schedule with hourly pay and built-in overtime every other week, offering both stability and flexibility. The ideal candidate brings strong project or program management experience, a solid mechanical engineering background, and the ability to balance technical work with client and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships and act as a primary technical point of contact

• Coordinate and oversee internal engineering resources and project deliverables

• Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet scope, cost, and timeline goals

• Provide mechanical engineering support, design review, and technical guidance

• Review engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications

• Ensure engineering solutions meet quality, safety, and compliance standards

• Support cross-functional communication between engineering, operations, and clients

• Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization efforts

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience required

• Project Management (PM) background strongly preferred

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

• Comfortable working in a client-facing role

Pay

$43.00–$58.00 per hour
