Mechanical Engineer | Ogden, UT
Nexeo is hiring experienced Mechanical Engineers to join a leading engineering team in Ogden, Utah. In this role, you’ll design, analyze, and develop complex mechanical systems for large-scale industrial infrastructure projects. This position offers opportunities for both mid-level and senior-level engineers to contribute to high-performance engineering initiatives while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This is a 100% on-site position offering a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance for qualified non-local candidates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review mechanical design and procurement documents, including P&IDs, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions
- Develop specifications and data sheets for specialized or custom-designed equipment
- Serve as the technical liaison for purchase orders and subcontracts
- Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with project and technical requirements
- Coordinate with other disciplines, vendors, and construction teams to ensure project success
- Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical components and processes using established engineering principles
- Conduct conceptual design studies and prepare engineering reports and proposals
- Support project and construction management teams with mechanical input throughout all project phases
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall team development
- Support documentation for installation, testing, and maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (required due to project security requirements)
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable clearances
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening (including marijuana)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the U.S.
- Strong understanding of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), pipe sizing, and mechanical system design
- Experience with chilled water systems, equipment specification, and procurement documentation for industrial facilities
- Experience developing custom equipment packages (e.g., skid-mounted systems or specialty assemblies)
- Experience working under ASME NQA-1 or AS9100D quality standards
Mechanical Engineer (Mid-Level):
- 5+ years of related engineering experience
- Strong communication and coordination skills across teams
Senior Mechanical Engineer:
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, or project engineering
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience
- Ability to independently manage complex mechanical systems and deliverables
Pay
$118,000–$150,000 per year (based on experience)
