Mechanical Engineer | Ogden, UT

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the U.S. Air Force’s Sentinel Program (GBSD) in Ogden, UT. This role supports Bechtel in designing and integrating critical launch infrastructure across multiple U.S. Air Force bases. The Sentinel program is a major defense modernization effort replacing the Minuteman III ICBM system. This is a full-time, on-site position offering strong work-life balance and a 9x80 schedule.


Responsibilities

• Prepare and review P&IDs, calculations, data sheets, engineering specifications, and procurement documents

• Develop specifications and data sheets for custom mechanical equipment

• Serve as technical representative for purchase orders and subcontracts

• Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements

• Apply mechanical engineering methods to evaluate components and system performance

• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, clients, construction teams, and suppliers

• Prepare studies, reports, proposals, and technical documentation

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

• Support project and construction phases by addressing mechanical system requirements

• Prepare installation and maintenance requirements and equipment selection evaluations


Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required (federal facility and clearance eligibility)

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

• Must pass background and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID at time of hire

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)

• 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

• Proficiency with chilled water systems, pipe sizing, P&IDs, and equipment specification development

• Experience supporting industrial, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical facilities

• Experience with DoD projects and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)

• Experience with quality assurance programs such as ASME NQA-1 or AS9100D


Pay

$118,000 – $150,000 DOE


Schedule

Full-Time | On-Site

9x80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
