Structural Engineer (Junior–Mid Level) | Ogden, UT
Join a high-impact engineering team working on large-scale infrastructure and facilities design projects. This onsite role offers the opportunity to support complex structural design, analysis, and integration efforts across multiple locations. Responsibilities
Junior-Level Responsibilities
• Perform structural analysis of steel and concrete components using principles of statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
• Develop design deliverables including calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
• Prepare specifications, procurement documents, subcontract requisitions, and support bid evaluations
• Review structural drawings, details, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines
• Assist in developing conceptual studies, technical reports, proposals, and quantity take-offs
• Participate in constructability reviews and cross-discipline collaboration
Mid-Level Additional Responsibilities
• Independently design complex structures and select structural elements based on loading and code requirements
• Review, validate, and approve work completed by junior engineers and designers
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior staff
• Lead coordination with clients, vendors, contractors, and construction teams
• Resolve multi-disciplinary design issues and support project planning and estimating
• Prepare advanced structural calculations and quality reviews of engineering deliverables
Qualifications
Required (All Levels)
• U.S. citizenship (required for site access)
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
• Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID at time of hire
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (including testing for marijuana)
• Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification or equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, BC, ASCE 7
• Education/Experience Requirements:
o Junior Level: HS Diploma/GED + 6+ years experience, or Bachelor’s + 2+ years
o Mid Level: HS Diploma/GED + 9+ years experience, or Bachelor’s + 5+ years
Additional Requirements for Mid-Level
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring engineering staff
• Ability to independently design complex steel and concrete structures
• Experience with structural analysis tools (GTSTRUDL, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, etc.)
• Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary design workflows and issue resolution
Desired Qualifications (All Levels)
• Active security clearance
• Experience with Tekla or similar structural modeling software
• Experience with UFC requirements and Whole Building Design Guide
• Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat or SpecsIntact
• Experience with Mathcad or similar engineering calculation tools
• Experience with procurement automation tools (mid-level)
• Familiarity with ACI 349 and ASCE 4-98 (mid-level)
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field
Pay
$100,000–$148,000 per year (DOE, based on level)
Schedule
100% Onsite | Full-Time | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)
Additional Details
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain clearance
Relocation: Available for non-local candidates
Referral Bonus: $5,000 for full-time hires
