Structural Engineer (Junior Level) | Ogden, UT
We are seeking Junior Structural Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the U.S. Air Force’s Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role supports Bechtel in the design, construction, and integration of Sentinel launch infrastructure across multiple U.S. Air Force bases. The Sentinel program is a key component of modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. This is a full-time, on-site position offering paid overtime, a 9x80 schedule, and excellent work/life balance.
Responsibilities
• Perform structural design and analysis for steel and concrete systems
• Develop calculations, design details, material specifications, and technical documentation
• Prepare material and subcontract requisitions and support technical bid evaluations
• Support interdisciplinary coordination and assist with drawing reviews and model checks
• Contribute to conceptual studies, design reports, proposals, and quantity take-offs
• Participate in design review meetings and constructability discussions
• Interface with engineering disciplines, construction teams, and stakeholders as needed
Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship required (security clearance eligibility)
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
• Must pass background check & drug screening (including marijuana testing)
• Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license at hire
• E.I.T. (Engineer-in-Training) certification required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering applications
• Working knowledge of AISC, ACI 318, IBC, and ASCE 7
• Strong understanding of core structural analysis principles
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• High School Diploma + 6+ years of relevant structural engineering experience, OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering + 2+ years of experience
Pay
$100,000 – $125,000 DOE
Schedule
Full-Time | On-Site
9x80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
