Nexeo HR is hiring Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineers for direct-hire, full-time, onsite roles supporting mission-critical facility design and major industrial infrastructure projects. These roles focus on developing control systems, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument indices, and integrated systems for large, complex industrial and underground facilities. Candidates with experience in control systems engineering, instrumentation design, AutoCAD, systems integration, and large industrial or highly regulated environments are strongly encouraged to apply. This position offers a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, relocation support, and long-term career growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
• Design and develop instrumentation and control systems for large industrial and mission-critical facilities
• Create and review P&IDs, logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, and instrument data sheets
• Develop control systems for HVAC, lighting, power distribution, and facility utilities
• Generate instrument index and I/O lists using automated tools and vendor documentation
• Prepare specifications, technical documentation, and procurement packages in SpecsIntact
• Evaluate vendor submittals and integrate technical recommendations into design solutions
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, engineering standards, and security-related requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders
• Support model reviews, resolve design challenges, and maintain design accuracy
• Maintain quality control, schedule adherence, and design compliance
• Support secure facility requirements as applicable (SCIF, TEMPEST, ICD-705)
• Participate in constructability reviews and technical discussions
Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
• Must pass background check and drug screening (including marijuana)
• Must hold a Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID
• Experience designing I&C systems for industrial, nuclear, utility, mission-critical, or highly regulated facilities
• Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, codes, and engineering standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and office automation tools
• Ability to prepare technical drawings, calculations, data sheets, and specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Mid-level: Bachelor’s degree + 5+ years of experience
• Senior-level: Bachelor’s degree + 10+ years of experience
• Or: High school diploma + 7–15+ years of related experience
Pay
$100,000–$185,000 per year
Schedule
Full-time onsite | Monday–Friday | Day shift (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
