Pipe Support Engineer | Ogden, Utah

Nexeo HR is hiring an experienced Pipe Support Engineer to join an advanced engineering team supporting the U.S. Air Force Sentinel program in Ogden, Utah. This role plays a vital part in designing and analyzing pipe supports for mission-critical infrastructure within one of the nation’s most significant defense modernization programs.

As a Pipe Support Engineer, you’ll design, locate, and analyze supports for various piping systems, perform structural calculations, and ensure compliance with ASME B31.3, AISC, and other industry standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact project that contributes directly to national security while collaborating with multi-discipline engineering teams in a fast-paced, technical environment.

This position is 100% onsite and offers paid overtime, a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Design and locate supports for piping systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes

• Perform structural calculations to verify the integrity and load capacity of piping supports

• Review and approve piping layouts and support designs to ensure compliance with DoD and ASME B31.3 standards

• Collaborate closely with layout personnel, stress engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated designs

• Utilize 3D modeling software to develop and coordinate pipe support layouts

• Apply knowledge of common pipe support hardware, structural framing, and AISC standards

• Conduct structural/frame analysis using GT Strudl or similar engineering software

• Ensure all designs are cost-effective, constructible, and compliant with engineering and safety standards

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required (for federal access and clearance eligibility)

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline

• 8+ years of experience designing and analyzing pipe supports

• Proficiency in ASME B31.3, AISC, and industry pipe support design practices

• Experience using GT Strudl or comparable structural/frame analysis software

• Prior experience working in a 3D modeling environment

• Strong coordination skills across disciplines, including layout and stress engineering teams

• Must pass a background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Must possess a Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. Security Clearance

• Experience with DoD or USAF infrastructure projects

• Familiarity with piping design for defense or mission-critical environments

• Strong communication and collaboration skills within multi-discipline project teams

Pay

$118,000 – $150,000 per year

Schedule

Full-time | 100% Onsite | 9x80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
