Pipe Stress Engineer | Ogden, Utah


We are seeking an experienced Pipe Stress Engineer to join an advanced engineering team in Ogden, Utah. This high-impact role focuses on performing pipe stress analyses, modeling piping systems, and ensuring design compliance with ASME codes while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of piping design principles, and the ability to deliver precise, code-compliant designs for complex industrial projects.

This position is 100% onsite and offers paid overtime, a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.


Responsibilities

• Perform pipe stress analysis on various piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 codes

• Model and simulate piping systems to evaluate flexibility, stability, and equipment nozzle load compliance

• Collaborate with layout, pipe support, and mechanical design teams to produce efficient, constructible designs

• Participate in design reviews, providing technical validation and recommendations

• Resolve conflicting design requirements and propose innovative, compliant solutions

• Apply standard plant design methodologies and adapt them to unique or complex scenarios

• Review vendor data, drawings, and specifications for technical accuracy

• Coordinate with engineering and specialty teams to maintain project alignment and deliverables


Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required (for clearance eligibility)

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

• 5+ years of experience performing pipe stress analysis

• Proficient in ASME B31.3 or B31.1 design codes

• Hands-on experience with Bentley AutoPipe or similar analysis software

• Familiarity with dynamic analysis principles

• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Must possess a Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID

• Strong communication and teamwork skills with cross-functional teams


Preferred Qualifications

• EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) registration

• Experience with large-scale or industrial infrastructure projects

• Background in mission-critical or high-security environments

• Experience in plant design coordination within a 3D modeling environment


Pay

$118,000 – $150,000 per year


Schedule

Full-time | 100% Onsite | 9x80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
