Senior Pipe Stress Engineer (Direct Hire)

Nexeo HR is seeking an experienced Senior Pipe Stress Engineer for a direct-hire, onsite role supporting large-scale mission-critical facility design and advanced industrial piping systems. This position focuses on complex pipe stress analysis, flexibility evaluation, dynamic loading, and compliance with ASME B31.3 across nuclear, petrochemical, industrial, and underground facility environments. Engineers with strong backgrounds in AutoPIPE, ASME piping codes, dynamic analysis, nozzle load qualification, and multidisciplinary design coordination are strongly encouraged to apply. This full-time role offers a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, relocation assistance, and the opportunity to contribute to a major national modernization program.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe stress analysis in accordance with ASME B31.3

• Model piping systems to evaluate flexibility, thermal movement, support loads, and nozzle loads

• Verify stability and qualification of piping and equipment interfaces

• Collaborate with piping layout teams and pipe support engineers to optimize system designs

• Apply plant design and piping engineering methods to resolve design challenges

• Participate in design reviews and evaluate drawings, models, and calculations for code compliance

• Analyze conflicting requirements and develop engineering solutions

• Review vendor documents and integrate technical data into system design

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and vendors

• Support design for underground and mission-critical industrial systems

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship (required for facility access)

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

• 5+ years of pipe stress analysis experience

• Proficiency with Bentley AutoPIPE (required)

• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1

• Experience analyzing piping flexibility, stress, and equipment nozzle loads

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID required

Pay

$118,000 – $150,000 per year
