Account Collections Representative | Logan, UT

Nexeo is seeking an Account Collections Representative to join a call-focused environment. In this role, you will contact customers regarding delinquent accounts, identify reasons for delinquency, and work with customers to secure payment commitments or establish repayment arrangements. This position requires strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills while strictly adhering to regulatory and compliance guidelines.

As an Account Collections Representative, you will work directly with customers over the phone to resolve past-due accounts. You’ll help customers understand their options, set up payment arrangements, and work toward resolving balances — all while maintaining professionalism and compliance. This role is ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating challenging conversations.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers by telephone regarding delinquent accounts

• Determine reasons for delinquency and obtain commitments to pay

• Negotiate payment in full or structured repayment arrangements

• Update and maintain accurate customer account information in computer systems

• Follow established guidelines when determining appropriate collection remedies

• Develop and manage repayment schedules while explaining consequences of delinquency

• Perform skip tracing and due diligence functions as required

• Ensure compliance with all Federal Regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and applicable bankruptcy laws

• Communicate professionally with borrowers, attorneys, and third parties

• May perform field collection-related duties as assigned

• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Some experience in collections or customer service preferred

• Banking, finance, or related experience is a plus

• Excellent customer service skills

• Strong verbal communication skills and effective telephone techniques

• Ability to be firm, direct, and concise while maintaining a professional manner

• Strong follow-up and negotiation skills

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities

• Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements

• Solid math, reading, and writing skills

• Basic PC skills, including Excel and Word

Specific Requirements

• Comfortable handling sensitive financial conversations over the phone

• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, attorneys, and third parties

• Ability to adhere to federal and state compliance regulations

Pay Rate

$23.00 per hour

9:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday
