Electrical Engineer | Clearfield, UT

Nexeo HR is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer in Clearfield, Utah. Our client is a leading provider of industrial enclosures, power generation equipment, and electrical packaging solutions. This position offers the opportunity to design, develop, and oversee the integration of complex electrical systems for large-scale industrial applications. We’re looking for a self-motivated problem solver with strong expertise in electrical design, AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of NEC and NFPA standards who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

•  Design and develop electrical systems for industrial enclosures and power generation equipment.

•  Create and review schematics, diagrams, and electrical drawing packages.

•  Perform panel loading calculations and balancing for load centers, panelboards, and switchboards.

•  Determine appropriate wire, cable, conduit, and tray sizing.

•  Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects.

•  Review job submittal packages and customer-furnished information; provide technical recommendations.

•  Provide technical direction and coordination with drafters and designers.

•  Collaborate with cross-disciplinary project teams, including shop and field personnel.

•  Ensure designs and practices comply with NEC, NFPA, and company safety standards.

•  Support projects involving generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and related electrical equipment.

•  Participate in estimating, equipment selection, and project planning as needed.

Qualifications

•   Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.

•   5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.

•   Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA standards.

•   Proficiency in AutoCAD (Electrical 2015 or newer); Inventor, Revit MEP, or other 3D modeling software experience preferred.

•   Experience with emergency power generation, switchgear installation, and electrical equipment packaging strongly preferred.

•   Familiarity with Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, and Schneider equipment a plus.

•   Ability to interpret contract specifications and complex electrical drawings.

•   Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•   Team-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven with the ability to meet short timelines.

•   Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software a plus.

•   Must pass a drug screen and background check.

•  Willingness to travel to Texas initially (with ~10% ongoing travel thereafter).

Pay

$120,000 per year

Schedule

Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
