Nexeo is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid) to be hired directly & join the team of an innovative company headquartered in Providence, UT. Mechanical Engineers research, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical systems for robotic unmanned vehicles. You will also develop, test, and refine components, equipment, and machinery, applying engineering principles to a range of products such as engines, controls, and robots.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting product testing, creating prototypes, and overseeing fabrication, installation, and repair processes. This role involves working independently on advanced technical projects, with the potential to lead a team. You’ll collaborate with the supervisor and provide expertise in complex technical matters, contributing to cutting-edge solutions. Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analyze data, including customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals, to assess the feasibility of designs or applications.

• Design products and systems for robotic control, integrating electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and principles.

• Participate in fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with engineering designs and customer specifications.

• Coordinate the operation, maintenance, and repair processes to optimize the performance of machines and equipment.

• Develop designs that integrate machines, hardware, and software for seamless system functionality.

• Assess field installations and recommend design adjustments to address machine or system malfunctions.

• Actively contribute to design reviews, providing technical insights and suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree is preferred. A degree in Chemical Engineering may be considered.

• Must have 5-10 years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience (7-10 years of preferred experience).

• Must have 5-10 years of machine and product design experience using SolidWorks, Pro-E, or CATIA.

• Must have proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks software for detailed design work.

• Must have demonstrated experience in designing complex electromechanical systems.

• Must have expertise in flow and thermal analysis.

• Must have hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.

• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Familiarity with patent law and intellectual property considerations.

• Basic understanding of business management, including sales, marketing, and financial principles.

• System and conceptual design experience.

• Experience using Jira Project Tracking Software.

• Understanding of Agile Methodology.

• Proficiency in Spanish.

Pay

$110K - $140K Annual Salary | DOE

Schedule

Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00PM | Monday – Friday

*Must be able to get on a 1-2x weekly call with contacts in Australia in the 4-6pm hours.

*Hybrid role: Two days a week (Tuesdays required) onsite but must be willing to work 4-5 days onsite when needed. Travel: Less than 10% of the time but could include international visits to work sites.
