Job Description

Able to read and understand GBL
-
Understands the various codes of freight
-
Knowledge of unloading papers, loading papers, order of drivers

Able to put a load together- inbound or outbound and provide driver with a quote
-
Able to use the various computer programs: PC Miller, Web application and Internet truck stop
-
Able to maintain board with freight in proper slots
-
Able to read a liftvan/box
-
Able to quote rates to customers
-
Understand stamp on all LTL / L-B paperwork not dispatched by
-
Understand sending settlement / email of what to bill
-
Understands rates
-
Understand splits cards
-
Understands billing on cards – various charges LH / FS /CCSur / NESur/ Ohio Sur/ Pier
-
Understands paying drivers percentages / entering shipments in Web application
-
Understands paying drivers for Airport – BWI cargo
-
Understand paying driver’s pier from pier paperwork not from cards.
-
Knows how to complete reports for management (i.e.: settlements in progress and 5 day report)

Able to set up loads with load brokers and make sure we have approved them for hauling
-
Keeps up with driver locations

Seeks freight for loads- communicating with agents, carriers and other port agents
-
Understands our status in the industry and our customer base
-
Adheres to policy of always be respectful to drivers and having honest communication with drivers
-
May be asked to fill other desk during absence of team member
-
Understands and has a working relationship with Intermodal dept. for inbound container pickup and over the road trucking.

Other duties as assigned.

Attendance & Punctuality very important.
EXPERIENCE
-
Required: Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in the transportation industry
-
Preferred: Two or more years’ experience as a Dispatcher in an equivalent operation
