Journeyman Electrician – Historic / 4th-Generation Restoration

Location: Colorado
Pay: $32–$37/hr DOE
Schedule: Day shift with possible night work and overtime as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in historic and multi-generation residential restorations. This role is ideal for electricians who understand how to work within older homes where existing wiring remains in place, and new electrical systems must be thoughtfully integrated around legacy infrastructure.

This is not new construction. Precision, problem-solving, and respect for existing systems are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install new electrical systems while preserving existing/legacy wiring

  • Tie new circuits, panels, and devices into older electrical infrastructure safely and cleanly

  • Read and interpret older electrical layouts and undocumented wiring conditions

  • Troubleshoot and modify existing systems without compromising original wiring

  • Maintain compliance with NEC and local Colorado codes

  • Work closely with project leads to plan phased installs and minimize disruption

  • Perform work in occupied or sensitive residential environments

  • Adapt to night shift work and overtime as project timelines require

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Active Journeyman Electrician license (Colorado or reciprocal)

  • Proven experience with:

    • Historic home restorations

    • Old-to-new electrical system integration

    • Knob-and-tube, cloth-wrapped, or early-generation wiring environments (or equivalent legacy systems)

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions

  • High attention to detail and respect for existing structures and finishes

  • Reliable transportation and tools

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience on 2nd or 3rd-generation restoration projects

  • Experience working in high-end or historically significant homes

  • Familiarity with phased remodels and occupied residences

Compensation & Benefits

  • $32–$37 per hour, depending on experience

  • Overtime opportunities

  • Potential night shift premium depending on schedule

  • Long-term project stability for the right electrician
