Quality Control Manager
Location: Mineral Wells
Pay: based on experience
Overview:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring all welding and assembly work produced by shop fitters and welders meets company quality standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance throughout the production process.
Essential Functions:
Inspect all welds, holes, and completed work to ensure all quality standards are met.
Monitor layout and fitting, comparing all work to drawings and specifications for accuracy.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure using straightedges, templates, and other precision tools.
Immediately report all non-conforming materials to the Shop Foreman.
Inspect layout, welding positions, and alignment during assembly using appropriate measuring tools.
Ensure compliance with company Quality Control Standards and the Company Procedure Manual.
Work closely with the Shop Foreman and Director of Operations to resolve non-compliance issues.
Assist with scheduling project delivery times to ensure customer deadlines are met.
Maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
Support and help enforce OSHA and company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Participate in performance discussions and provide appropriate feedback when needed.
Able to work independently and provide clear direction to others.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong verbal communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Solid understanding of welding equipment, fabrication workflows, and welding processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding specifications, and welding symbols accurately.
Proficient in reading a tape measure, level, and square.
Able to safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and partner with management as needed.
