Community Development Project Coordinator/Specialist
Location: Various counties across West Virginia
Hours: Full-Time | 35–40 hrs/week | 8am–4pm | Occasional Evenings & Travel
Pay: $45,000–$50,000 + $3,000–$5,000 travel reimbursement annually
MOVE Staffing is seeking a motivated Community Development Project Coordinator/Specialist to help support community and economic development efforts across an eight-county region. This role plays a key part in improving local infrastructure, strengthening community partnerships, and helping secure funding for essential projects.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate and manage community development projects, including water and sewer system improvements.
Conduct research, engage stakeholders, and support regional planning efforts.
Identify funding sources and prepare federal, state, and foundation grant proposals.
Assist with procurement and coordinate activities with engineers and professional service providers.
Manage project schedules, budgets, reporting, drawdowns, and compliance with funding rules.
Ensure projects meet all federal, state, and local regulations, including labor standards.
Prepare planning documents and participate in trainings, workshops, and regional meetings.
Perform additional project-related duties as needed.
Skills & Knowledge
Understanding of federal community and economic development programs (USDA, ARC, HUD, EDA).
Strong project planning, organization, and financial management skills.
Excellent communication and public speaking ability.
Ability to work well with government agencies, engineers, and community partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
Experience using Excel is required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Business, Political Science, or related field.
Grant writing experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation required.
