Millwright – Plant

Job Description:
The Millwright is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing machinery and mechanical systems throughout the plant to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds on sawmill equipment including conveyors, debarkers, headrigs, chippers, kilns, planers, and material-handling systems.

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and implement effective repairs.

• Install new machinery, align and level equipment, and ensure proper calibration and functionality.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and document work performed.

• Fabricate, weld, and modify parts as needed to support equipment performance.

• Follow safety protocols and lock-out/tag-out procedures at all times.

• Collaborate with production staff to identify mechanical concerns and reduce unplanned downtime.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

Qualifications:

• Previous millwright, mechanic, or industrial maintenance experience (sawmill experience preferred).

• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and industrial mechanical systems.

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.

• Proficient in troubleshooting, precision alignment, and fabrication.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying temperatures.
