Job Title: Janitorial Custodian
Location: Pomeroy, OH
Pay: $16–$18 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitorial Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation within a courthouse and associated government offices. This position plays a key role in ensuring all public and staff areas remain clean, safe, and presentable at all times while adhering to facility standards and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors
Remove trash and recycling from offices, hallways, and common areas
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all floors and surfaces
Maintain cleanliness of entryways, lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and break rooms
Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap
Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor
Follow all security and confidentiality procedures required for government facilities
Qualifications:
Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred
Ability to work independently and maintain consistent cleaning standards
Must pass background screening for access to government property
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Compensation:
$16–$18 per hour (based on experience)
30 hours per week
