Location: Bakersfield, CA
Pay: $55,000 – $85,000 DOE
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Generalist to join a growing Human Resources team! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company that’s building out its HR department and strengthening its foundation for continued success.
You’ll support day-to-day HR operations, ensure compliance with employment laws, and help foster a positive and inclusive employee experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and genuinely enjoys building trust, solving problems, and driving results through people.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support the full employee lifecycle — onboarding, orientation, offboarding, and employee changes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS systems.
- Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee inquiries.
- Manage employee relations issues with discretion, professionalism, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Partner with managers to address performance, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Assist in recruitment activities — posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Coordinate and track mandatory training and employee development programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.) and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HR platforms and Microsoft Office (UKG Workforce experience a plus).
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Analytical mindset—comfortable manipulating data and auditing HR workflows.
- A proactive and resourceful attitude.
