Hydrovac Operator

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac trucks to perform excavation tasks, ensuring precision and safety.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Collaborate with construction teams to determine excavation needs and project requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the hydrovac unit.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment during operations.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies while on-site.
• Assist in the operation of additional heavy equipment as needed, including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and graders.
• Participate in horizontal drilling projects when required.

Experience

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with hydrovac trucks.
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and requirements.
• Previous construction site experience is essential.
• Skills in operating various types of heavy machinery such as Caterpillar, dump trucks, water trucks, and paving equipment are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of excavation techniques and safety practices related to underground utility work is a plus.
