Key Staffing is partnering with a premier agriculture client to recruit an experienced and hands-on Plant Supervisor to oversee daily huller operations, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.


Plant Supervisor – Huller Operations
Location: Firebaugh, CA


Salary Range: $65K - $80K (Depending on Experience)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all hulling and drying operations to maximize safety, sanitation, and product quality.

  • Supervise shift activities and direct reports—typically 10–15 staff off-season and up to 85 employees per shift during peak harvest.

  • Ensure efficient production scheduling and execution aligned with food safety and GMP standards.

  • Foster effective communication across departments and with shift leads and team members.

  • Identify and resolve issues impacting production, quality, or team performance.

  • Maintain a clean, audit-ready environment with a strong focus on safety protocols.

  • Train, coach, and develop new and existing team members to ensure operational excellence.

  • Report safety incidents or near misses promptly and support corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with HR, Safety, and Quality teams on employee performance, compliance, and disciplinary matters.

  • Support process improvements and cost-effective production practices.

  • Approve timecards and oversee shift documentation and reporting.

Harvest Season Requirements:

  • Must be available to work 12–13 hour shifts, 6–7 days per week for a period of 6–8 weeks, typically from late August through mid-October.

  • Ability to lead and motivate large teams under high-production demand.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of supervisory experience in agriculture, food processing, or related manufacturing environments.

  • Strong leadership, time management, and decision-making skills.

  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality compliance practices.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with scheduling or production software a plus.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong advantage.

Work Environment:

  • This is a physically active role requiring standing, walking, climbing, and lifting in both indoor and outdoor settings.

  • Must be comfortable working around loud machinery, varying weather conditions, and long hours during peak seasons.
