Job Description- Retail Sales Associate

Description

The Retail Sales Associate must perform a variety of duties to assist customers and maintain a clean and organized showroom. 

Responsibilities

-Perform Opening/Closing procedures. There is a checklist to be followed and completed each day. 

-Greeting and assisting customers. Ensure that customers are greeted promptly. Qualify each customer so you can assist their needs or guide them to someone who can. If you cannot help them be sure to take a detailed note to be followed up on later. If you could not help the customer be sure to follow up so you may better assist the next time. 

-Learning and staying up to date on product knowledge and pricing of all products sold including parts, chemicals, accessories, spas, pools, etc. To be informed enough you can properly guide customers to the product they need and give them the knowledge they need to use it. 

-Maintain and organize the environment. Including product displays and cleanliness of store.

-Unload trucks and put inventory away. Ensuring it is priced correctly and will scan in the computer.

-Perform water tests and read results to assist customers with their water quality. 

- Run cash register and be able to navigate thru the Point of Sale System to ring out customers, update customer information, accept payment in accounts receivable, look up customer history, create a sales order for an item that needs to be special ordered, etc.  

-Answer phones promptly and assist the customer.

-Take Service Orders. Being sure to take detailed messages, get accurate information including address and phone numbers, and putting the service orders in the correct location for the crew manager.

-Assist the sales manager with day to day operations and duties he/she may delegate.

-Carry out any and all tasks to guarantee efficient operation of the retail store as assigned by management.
