EHS Technician, Field

Pay Range/BOE: $28.00 – $32.00
Job Scope:
Performs technical duties in programs related to EHS. Supports and assists with the implementation and maintenance of programs designed to minimize environmental, health, & safety risks and to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, & safety regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare Job Safety Plans for high-risk projects • Complete or ensures completion of customer required data entry • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs, policies, and procedures • Coordinates, tracks, and assists with monthly safety meetings, required employee trainings, and certifications • Assists with tracking and analysis of audit/inspection data • Assists with the development of compliance documents to maintain compliance with Cal OSHA, EPA, SJAPCD, and other agencies requirements • Assists with incident investigation and root cause analysis • Assists with specimen collection for Drug & Alcohol testing • Coordinates and/or completes safety equipment inspection to include but not limited to atmospheric monitor calibrations, SARs, ladders, safety harness & lanyards, scaffolding. Etc. • Coordinates and/or assists with PPE, tool, and other equipment procurement and distribution • Other duties as assigned and needed.

• Knows and understands: - How to interpret agency regulations - Company and customer programs, policies, and procedures - Administrative tools and systems EHS Technician - Safety equipment and how to inspect and calibrate - Tools & equipment utilized by company - Methodologies of incident investigation and root cause analysis - Hazard analysis - Project planning • Has the ability to: - Provide team building skills - Effectively use computers and other technology applicable to the job - Effectively use time management skills - Handle administrative duties of position, including completion of required documents - Effectively present a meeting - Create a Job Safety Plan - Assist management and supervisors in assessing employee development - Coach and mentor supervisors and employees - Effectively communicate with management, supervisors, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.

Degree Required:
High School/GED
