We're hiring a General Manager to lead a brand-new industrial plant in Kern County, CA! This is a Direct Hire Opportunity.
Location: Kern County, CA | Compensation: $175,000–$225,000 + Performance Bonus

Position Overview
This is a strategic leadership role for a plant operations expert with proven experience in large-scale industrial startups. You will oversee all aspects of plant operations—from initial project execution to full-scale production—while building and leading a high-performing team. The right candidate will bring a strong balance of operational expertise, financial acumen, and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the startup and full commissioning of a new facility, including managing contractors, equipment installation, and project milestones.
Oversee daily operations, including production, safety, maintenance, compliance, and budget performance.
Implement systems and best practices to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary point of contact between plant operations and executive leadership.
Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and environmental regulations.
Represent the organization in the community and with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 7+ years of industrial plant operations and startup experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong track record in project management, facility operations, and cross-functional team leadership.
- Familiarity with ERP and CMMS systems.
- Background in recycling, manufacturing, or environmental services is highly desirable.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
Additional Requirements
Must be comfortable working in variable outdoor conditions and navigating physically demanding environments.
Ability to work extended hours during startup and critical operations phases.
Travel required during initial onboarding (6–9 months).
