Job description:

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, to transport freight to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
• Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during routes.
• Ensure proper handling of cargo to prevent damage during transit.

Skills

• Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery driver experience.
• Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with operating forklifts is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
