We are seeking a Legal Assistant to provide high-level professional and administrative support to an Attorney specializing in Personal Injury, Probate Law, and Criminal Defense. This role is essential for the smooth operation of the practice and requires strong organizational skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Communication:
Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly.
Assist with client interviews and meetings.
Schedule and coordinate client meetings.
Maintain and update client contact information and files.
Litigation Support:
Assist with discovery requests, including document collection, review, and production.
Prepare for depositions and trials by organizing exhibits and assisting with witness preparation.
Support court filings and other litigation-related tasks.
Document Preparation & Management:
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, correspondence, and other forms.
Maintain electronic and physical files with accurate and organized record keeping.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda under attorney supervision.
Calendar & Administrative Management:
Schedule and manage attorney calendars, including court appearances, client meetings, depositions, and other legal events.
Coordinate travel arrangements as needed.
Manage billing and timekeeping records.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
- 2 years as a legal assistant or related role preferred but not required
