Tool Crib Attendant

A Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining tools and equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Key responsibilities typically include:

• Issuing and receiving tools, dies, gauges, and equipment to employees
• Tracking tool inventory (often using a computer or manual log system)
• Inspecting tools for wear or damage and removing defective items
• Cleaning, organizing, and properly storing tools
• Coordinating tool repairs, calibration, or replacements
• Maintaining accurate records of tool usage and inventory levels
• Ensuring tools are available to minimize production downtime
• Following safety and quality procedures

Common skills/requirements:

• Basic mechanical or manufacturing knowledge
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Computer skills (inventory systems, Excel, or CMMS)
• Ability to lift and move tools/equipment
• Good communication with maintenance and production teams
