Plant Team Member specializes in the production and finishing of concrete products in a fast-paced, manufacturing, and team-oriented environment. This position is hands-on, requiring physical strength, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities include assisting with daily production and supporting crews during workload changes to meet production needs.
Job Duties:
- Perform general manual labor, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
- Assist with steel, form, and concrete fabrication, including placement, form setup/teardown, bed preparation, pulling strand, and finishing concrete.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow instructions and established safety guidelines.
- Assemble and position form components using instructions or shop drawings.
- Perform other tasks to support daily production as assigned.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts (with training).
- Use screeds to level concrete.
- Help train new team members on basic tasks.
Work Environment:
- Work indoors in a non-climate-controlled plant and outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, damp, humid).
- Frequent exposure to loud noise, dust, dirt, fumes, and moving machinery.
- Must wear required PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, high-visibility garments, gloves, and other protective equipment).
- Standard schedule with overtime during peak demand; minimal travel required.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, push, pull, lift, carry, kneel, grip, and perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work at a rapid pace and handle repetitive tasks.
- Strong visual and hearing abilities, including depth perception and close/distance vision.
Experience & Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- 0–1 year of related experience.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to learn.
- Physically able to perform the demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout a shift.
- Prior experience working with concrete or concrete-related equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, forklifts, or manufacturing machinery preferred.
