Minutemen Direct is currently recruiting for a 1st shift Maintenance Technician in Louisville, KY. Hours will be Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. You will need to perform maintenance duties for the facility. Must be able to fabricate, repair, and install components and equipment. Experience troubleshooting and repair of battery-operated forklifts is a must. Pay is $32.00 per hour to start. Experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment is required. (In-line automated side seal bagging equipment with heat tunnels and bagging machines).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and completes minor electrical repairs on wiring and other components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, troubleshoots and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as presses or programmable controllers.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and metal cutting saws to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Must have ability to operate a motor vehicle and forklift (both electrical and propane).
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment/machines.
  • Previous experience or post-secondary trade school required.


Requirements

  • Basic understanding of pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work well independently and take initiative when dealing with maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of equipment/machines.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively needs and issues with management and effected employees.



Education/Certification Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; post-secondary trade school or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hands to grasp, rotate, turn, and place objects.
  • Ability to stand frequently.
  • Ability to walk.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to talk with others and hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, bend, crawl or twist frequently.
  • Ability to lift/move 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
