CMM Programmer/ Quality Inspector - 1st Shift

A large manufacturer in the Newburg area is in need of an experienced CMM Programmer/ Quality Inspector on 1st shift. This is a full-time temp-to-hire position. The CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation. This role plays a key part in identifying and resolving quality issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with internal and external standards. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities -

  • CMM Programming (Open DMIS)
  • PPAP Activities 
  • Prepares rejection notices and verifies defects on return material
  • Read blueprints and specifications
  • Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Assess performance, ensure all work center employees are following press operator procedures, set up sheets, route sheets, special inspection instruction sheets, and all work instructions (verbal and written) correctly – coach and take corrective action as needed
  • Completes special assignments or projects established to achieve “continuous quality improvement”
  • Report and record inspections and test data
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualification and Requirements -

  • CMM programming experience of at least 2 years
  • Must be able to maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Must be willing to learn different functions of quality procedures (CMM, ISO, Dimensional checks, etc.)
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and quality expectations
  • Must have a keen eye for detail
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving skills 

Preferred Skills -

  • Working understanding ISO/IATF/AIAG
  • MSA 
  • Tool Calibration
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Create, edit, and validate CMM programs using software 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics are as described; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to varied temperatures due to working in a non-air-conditioned facility. In addition, the employee is regularly exposed to oil, grease, dust, odors, fumes, a loud noise environment, and may work near moving mechanical parts. The work environment is not climate-controlled.
