JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the maintenance and electrical repairs to all production equipment as required. Implementation and execution of Preventive Maintenance scheduled.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on plant equipment, programmable controllers, transformers, voltage regulators, and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, schematic drawings, and other specifications; troubleshooting
- Installs new machines and equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment; using hand tools and test equipment
- Repairs electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures; determining faulty wiring; inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine electrical preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance
- Repairs and replaces faulty electrical components by using testing equipment and hand tools to install relays, switches, motors, printed circuit boards, and position-sensing devices
- Programs automated machinery by operating, testing for malfunctions, and verifying repairs to and programmable controllers and end devices
- Maintains electrical equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Provides electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
- Prepares electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trend
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks
- Maintains Continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Plant Manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Related education in electrical field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing environment experience
- Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs [CMMS]
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot 24 VDC, 110 and 480/600 3 Phase VAC electrical systems and PC/PLC Control Systems
- Ability to read electrical prints/schematics
- Strong computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft project components and Adobe Acrobat
