The world’s leading manufacturer of closed cell, cross-linked block foams. Our full process manufacturing facility includes plastic extrusion lines and high-pressure nitrogen gassing. The manufacturing facility utilizes all three stages of a proprietary process to create foam that is superior in strength, consistency, quality, and purity superior to foams produced by other methods. Products are used in a wide range of markets including automotive, aviation, aerospace, construction, medical, health and beauty, packaging, transporting, and sports and leisure.


Job Summary:

The Night Shift Lead will oversee, lead, and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity metric standards. Responsible for ensuring staff competence, operational consistency, and resource effectiveness to safeguard optimal customer satisfaction and attainment of Company goals and objectives. This role will provide the required reporting and metrics while working collaboratively with all teams and staff.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and manage production employees on the assigned shift.

• Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.

• Provides constructive and timely feedback.

• Documents employee performance.

• Upholds safety requirements. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees production operations on assigned shift.

• Ensure safe running of all equipment to internal safety guidelines and all associated areas are maintained in a safe, orderly, and tidy manner.

• Coordinate coverage to account for absences and tardy’s.

• Ensure shifts achieve production targets.

• Effectively escalate and report any potential safety, manufacturing, and or operational risks or shortages.

• Conducts safety walks and submits safety engagements.

• Ensure manufacturing workflow within and between departments; ensure optimal deployment of all resources (staff and equipment).

• Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.

• Operate production equipment when coverage could not be obtained.

• Evaluates staff and organizes cross training.

• Facilitates daily shift transition meetings, including documentation of progress, challenges, and action items.

• Collaborate with Planning/Scheduling; communicate production schedule and make modifications as needed.

• Provide and document employee training.

• Maintain records of employees’ performance.

• Review, mentor, correct, and elevate staff to clarify expectations, promote personal accountability and high performance; contribute to review process.

• Ensures accurate inventory control within ERP transactions, Microsoft AX, to include transactions from inventory, batch work orders, throughout manufacturing operation.

• Troubleshoot issues that arise. Escalates as needed.

• Communication and collaboration with the maintenance department to communicate equipment problems.

• Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. • Ensures shift paperwork is completed, properly documented, and submitted.

• Coordinate with Human Resources to respond to employee concerns, complaints, or behavioral concerns and disciplinary action.

• Responsible for monitoring downtime, gathering data to include OEE recordation, reporting, and ERP transactions/reports as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior exceptional related manufacturing supervisory work experience required.

• Proven ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, plan, organize, and execute with excellence.

• LEAN Manufacturing and ISO experience is welcomed.

• Six Sigma experience welcomed.

• Spanish Speaking /Bilingual is a plus.
