Safety Specialist

Minutemen Direct is recruiting for a Safety Compliance Specialist in Greenfield, IN for a large Precast Solutions company. Hours are Monday-Friday 7a-4p. Pay is $80-$90K. Bachelor degree preferred or 2 years as Safety Coordinator in a similar role. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. This is a very dirty and dusty environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Providing personnel with safety-related information such as training sessions, emergency protocols, and proper use of safety equipment.
• Reviewing existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date. Overseeing the company's daily operations and identifying opportunities for improvement of safety regulations.
• Performing safety audits and physically inspecting all work areas and jobsites to identify possible safety issues.
• Conducting risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or long- term health hazards.

Preparing monthly or annual safety reports and presenting the information to management.

• Collaborating with Aurora Ill, location to make sure both manufacturing facilities are following the same practices.
• Collaborating with management to plan and implement a safety protocol budget.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, Industrial Engineering or a related field, preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Safety Coordinator or similar role. Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software for safety documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing safety requirements and technologies

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb up onto or down from equipment.
• Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and walk lengthy distances in an industrial setting.
• Occasionally it may be necessary to work in outside conditions that can include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
