1st Shift: Monday thru Friday / 6:00am-2:00pm (Mandatory Overtime)


SUMMARY:

Operates electric and propane forklift trucks to receive and distribute materials in and out of stock.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Keep all in-process inventories at work centers at all times. This includes safely delivering and opening materials.

2. Produce corrugated boxes for production use.

3. Take finished containers of parts from work cells and prepare them for stocking into finished goods.

4. Prepare barcodes for finished goods containers.

5. Maintain material handling equipment by completing forklift check off sheet and completing operator repairs and preventative maintenance.

6. Completion of rubber and finished goods inventory and component inventory of coated materials.

7. Conducts weight counts for production.

8. Prepares coated inventory when work cell changeovers occur. .

9. Other miscellaneous duties assigned as requested.

10. Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience in stand-up and sit-down forklift operation preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment especially a rubber or rubber related field is desired, but not necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to write clear and concise reports and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from groups of management, associates, customers, suppliers, and public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; move around the plant; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

2. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

2. The noise level in the production area is usually loud.

3. Temperatures vary between room temperature and 120° in the production area.
