Job Overview
As a Skilled Laborer, you will support the pipe laying crew with day-to-day site operations. This role is hands-on and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. You’ll assist the operator in preparing trenches, positioning pipes, and ensuring proper installation, while also performing general labor duties to keep the job site safe and efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Assist heavy equipment operators with pipe laying tasks
- Help set and align pipes in trenches according to specifications
- Spot and signal equipment operators for safe movement around the site
- Perform trench shoring, backfilling, and compaction as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow all safety protocols
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Other general labor tasks as directed by the foreman
Requirements:
- Previous construction or site work experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
- Knowledge of underground utilities or pipe laying a plus
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork
A pre-employment drug screen will be required for this position.
