Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Concrete Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for concrete projects across commercial, and/or industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, with a focus on concrete work including Slab on Grade, Tilt Wall, Elevated Concrete (Pan and flat plate) and concrete piers. Candidate should have a grasp on crew production rates per scope of work and have a general understanding of means and methods. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete work.
  • Analyze drawings and other construction documents to determine scope, material requirements, labor costs, and production times.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and calculate material and labor costs using estimating software or excel.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals in accordance with bid instructions and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure estimates are realistic and comprehensive.
  • Track and analyze historical cost data with project managers for continuous improvement and benchmarking.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project turnover meetings.
  • Maintain and update a database of pricing, productivity rates, and vendor contacts.
  • Identify and assess potential project risks and provide value engineering options.




Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating with a focus on concrete.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction techniques and materials.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (onscreen take off, computerease and excel).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with commercial or public infrastructure concrete projects.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and project management tools 

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional visits to project sites.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods and use a computer.
  • Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction environments.
