The company specializes in high-performance linear motion solutions, serving critical industries with precision-engineered products. In this role, you will develop and optimize CNC programs, with a primary focus on lathe operations. You’ll play a key part in improving machining performance, reducing setups, and advancing our tooling and automation processes. This is a 100% onsite, DIRECT HIRE position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and refine CNC programs offline using CAM software (currently Gibbscam, transitioning to Esprit).
  • Ensure programs are aligned with part drawings and setup documentation.
  • Validate and optimize programs on CNC machines to achieve production readiness.
  • Control and manage CNC program distribution to maintain version integrity and support quick changeovers.
  • Resolve process and production issues to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Recommend improvements to tooling, equipment, and processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and shop floor teams to implement best practices.
  • Mentor CNC setup personnel on tooling strategies and program optimization.
  • Support post-processor customization and G-code verification.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • A strong understanding of CAM software (Gibbscam required; Esprit experience is a plus).
  • Solid experience with G-code and post-processing for CNC machines.
  • Deep knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies—with a focus on lathe machining.
  • Hands-on experience working with metals in a production environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of CAM programming experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience in a machine shop environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of hands-on machine shop experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with G-code and M-code programming.

Work Environment
This role involves both office work and time on the production floor. Safety gear such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection is required in designated areas. You must be comfortable working at a computer and walking the floor to support production.
